Octadecene is a long-chain hydrocarbon and an alkene with the molecular formula C18H36. There are multiple structural isomers of octadecene, depending on the position of the double bond. 1-Octadecene, an alpha-olefin, is a relatively inexpensive solvent, with a boiling point of 315 °C. It is compatible with oleic acid.
Octadecene is used in the synthesis of colloidal quantum dots, but it can possibly be replaced by heat transfer fluids such as Dowtherm A or Therminol 66 in this process.

生产方法及用途

• 生产方法

  由十八醇脱水而得。将十八醇和乙酐(摩尔比为1:1
  .5)混合以后,从恒压漏斗逐滴加入一个装有石英砂的石英管中,温度为610±10℃,在柱中停留时间为2min。热解产物为近于等体积的两层液体,下层主要为乙酸和乙酐,弃去,上层液与1N氢氧化钾乙醇溶液在100℃回流1h,再倒入过量的温水中,取非水溶性物溶于正已烷,在0℃下冷却,未反应的十八醇沉淀出来,过滤分离,将滤液减压蒸馏,先在室温下馏出正已烷,升温蒸去前馏分,然后收集195℃(4.39kPa)馏分即为十八烯。
