1.在自然界,*甲酯存在于塔花油、橙花油、依兰依兰、茉莉油、晚香玉油等中。工业制造一般由*与甲醇酯化得到。将*的甲醇溶液加热到65℃,滴加硫酸,在75℃反应生成*甲酯的硫酸盐。然后用氢氧化钠溶液中和析出*甲酯。用甲苯萃取,洗涤甲苯萃取液并蒸去甲苯后,将粗制的*甲酯在存在碳酸钠的条件下进行减压精馏,将成品馏分冷至12-15℃以下,即析出*甲酯。另一种制法是由苯酐经氨化、降解、酯化而得到本品。 

2.由*与甲醇在酸性条件下酯化,经碱中和制得。或由苯酐经氨化、降解、酯化制得。
